Robin Davey Earns Certificate in Retirement Planning

Robin Davey, MS, CPA, of AXA Advisors in Clifton Park, has earned a certificate in retirement planning from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania for attending the At Retirements Program. Davey was one of only 50 financial professionals participating in the inaugural session of this elite program, and who were selected from more than 3,300 AXA Advisors financial professionals nationwide. The announcement was made by Bill Degnan, senior vice president and head of AXA Equitable’s At Retirementsm unit.
The Wharton School is recognized around the world for its academic strengths at every level of business education. The retirement education program is a customized program developed for AXA Advisors to provide its financial professionals with intensive training in retirement planning.
“There are currently over 77 million baby boomers in the United States looking at 20 to 30 years in retirement,” said Christopher M. “Kip” Condron, president and CEO of AXA Financial, Inc. “Without proper planning, they are likely facing the risk of not having enough retirement income.”
This week-long course included 50 hours of intensive study taught by 10 Wharton School faculty members, and was led by Dr. Olivia Mitchell, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans Professor of Insurance and Risk Management, and the Executive Director of the Pension Research Council at The Wharton School. Topics covered included:
• Understanding the Retirement Marketplace
• Identifying, Mitigating and Insuring Retirement Risks
• Qualified and Non-Qualified Plans and their Roles in Retirement Planning
• Medicare and Social Security – Dealing with Institutional Risk
• Asset Allocation and Diversification
• Real Estate in the Retirement Portfolio
• Estate Planning and Tax Issues in Retirement
Davey earned a BBA in Accounting from Siena College and an MS in Accounting from the University of Albany. Robin’s practice is focused on developing financial programs to help her clients attain their retirement and estate planning goals. Davey has 26 years of financial experience including corporate finance and accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. Additionally, she is a member of the National Association of Female Executives, a member of the operations committee of Ronald McDonald House, Small Business Strategic Alliance, Southern Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, Business Network International, Skidmore College Mentoring Program and is active in her local church and community.
Davey resides in Clifton Park, NY with her husband John and their three children - Lisa, Joseph and Jaclyn.
